Davie Water Treatment and Water Reclamation Facility
This facility located in Davie, Florida is currently under construction. It houses an administrative facility and also serves to treat, store and pump fresh water as well as treat returning waste-water before dispensing with it via deep well injection. The main building houses one wing for each of the two distinct services separated by a two story administrative block. The buildings take stylistic and scale cues from the adjacent spanish colonial residential architecture of the neighborhood. The site is punctuated by large water storage tanks with facades that integrate vined trellis. A pocket park at the front of this secure site serves as the project's front door and seeks to engage the pedestrian and provide an activated space along this future pedestrian corridor. The renderings are generated from SketchUp which was used as the primary design tool.
